It is such a great feeling to see that the Indian Community in Shanghai getting involved in various activities for the betterment of the Indian nationals residing in Shanghai and near about cities. This is indeed commendable. We see our children being involved in traditional activities with such excitement. At times it gives a feeling that our children being away from our home country are even more engrossed in traditional values and celebrations than they being in India.
Various community programs organized by various groups are also helping one and all in many ways. ‘Bharatiya Community’ has also played a big role promoting India culture with celebrations of all major festivals like Ganesh Festival, Dussera, and Diwali in complete traditional and festive manner.
The members of Bhartiya Community are also involved in various community activities such as arts and crafts, painting, language teaching, etc; contributing to children’s growth, women empowerment and health and physical activities. It also provides a platform for individuals to showcase their entrepreneurial abilities, by organizing family fun fairs such as Spirit of Spring 2016.
To further encourage the children of Bhartiya Community, they have published an online children magazine, which is a hit amongst the children and their parents. This is a big encouragement for the Indian community to showcase their talents and also improve upon on it.
Today, thanks to groups like Bharatiya Community, we can see new Indian families and individuals getting well-adjusted to the Chinese environment in a very short time, compared to earlier years when we had very little interaction amongst the Indian community. We can say for sure, that we have a truly vibrant Indian Community now in Shanghai.
